Richard A.
Smith, serves as Eschelon Telecom's President and
CEO. Smith joined Eschelon in October 1998 as the Chief
Financial Officer, was appointed to the Company’s Board of
Directors in July 2000, and served as the Company’s Chief
Operating Officer from March 1999 through July 2003. Smith was
elected President in April 2000 and became Eschelon’s Chief
Executive Officer in August 2003. Smith has 34 years of
telecommunications experience. Prior to joining Eschelon, Smith
served as Vice President of Financial Management for Frontier
Corp. where he had been employed since 1972. Smith has
also published books on deregulation strategies and productivity
for telecommunications companies.
Eschelon Telecom is an integrated communications
provider ov voice, data, Internet services, and business
telephone systems. Eschelon completed a
successful IPO on August 9,
2005 which raised $69.8 million.
